TFA San Diego is an innovative region! To meet the vision we hold for Inclusive Excellence in San Diego and reach our 2030 goals, we must have the courage to act differently. At TFA SD, that means we are pivoting from the traditional corps-member model, and we are now uniquely focused on the power and promise of our alumni. Our alumni's innovative vision and high-impact programming focus on:

1

The recruitment of alumni and other diverse, equity-centered educators to San Diego

2

The leadership development and placement of our alumni in partner districts.

3

The collaboration across industry to drive collective action toward inclusive excellence in San Diego K-12 system.

  • Our Mission

By 2030, twice as many children in communities where we work will reach key educational milestones indicating they are on a path to economic mobility and co-creating a future filled with possibility.

  • Our Vision

To innovate at scale and positively transform the education system in San Diego. We strive for inclusive excellence; true racial justice and educational equity made possible through inclusive leadership and collective impact.

  • Our Goal

We will recruit, develop, and help place a diverse set of alumni and equity-centered educators who better reflect the San Diego student population. Through these leaders, we will positively transform the education system sustainably and at scale for our students and communities.

Collective Impact

Theory of Action: We believe that San Diego has the time, talent, and treasure to be a model in the creation of a culture of inclusive excellence in our K-12 systems . Education is a catalyst for all equity-centered change. We believe we can achieve our desired state through a coordinated, collective, and accountable focus on our K-12 system. Our convening work creates a forum for continuous cycles of feedback, partnership, and action-based responsiveness. The convening ensures collaboration between once individual efforts to maximize the power of a coordinated collective.

Teach For America believes that its alumni and like-minded educators can play a catalytic role in the growing movement for educational equity in San Diego County. Our Fellowships are aimed at helping educators strengthen their leadership and assume leadership positions within schools in the county.
